This project involves the retrofit of 36 existing apartments in a Grade II listed terrace in Bayswater, west London, W2. The building is also within the Bayswater Conservation Area.
It is a sensitive heritage refurbishment, balancing environmental and building upgrades with conservation works to restore some of the buildings’ original features to create a range of luxury apartments.
The works included the strip-out of the existing 36 apartments, as well as structural alterations. All of the layouts to the apartments were revised in keeping with modern standards and finished with very high specification materials and products, including luxury marble to kitchens and bathrooms, decorative lighting, as well as an interactive AV system. Works also included the creation of new roof terraces, along with cosmetic and thermal upgrades to the façade.
The works were procured on a competitive single stage design and build basis, with Equals providing cost management and Employer’s Agent services from commencement of the project through to completion.
