Working within the Grade I listed Royal Opera House, we provided project and cost management on the complete refurbishment and redesign of the Chorus Rehearsal Room. A crucial component of the back of house facilities, the key aims of the project were to resolve complex acoustic challenges, update the space for enhanced performance, and improve user well-being, working conditions, and accessibility.

The scheme was realised within a very tight delivery timeline with only the summer afforded between performance seasons to complete the redesign and works on site.

Particular attention was paid to the acoustics of the new space, with bespoke panelling, designed by the architects, which feature removable elements and adjustable curtains, providing the ability to adjust the acoustic response.
