Work has recently commenced on site on a façade remediation at Island House in east London. The building is in the Mill Island Conservation Area and adjoins the 18th Century House Mill, surrounded on three sides by the River Lea.

Equals has been acting as cost and project managers for this cladding remediation project funded by the Building Safety Fund. Working for the managing agent and the Right to Manage company we have managed the procurement of a contractor as well as managing the BSF application process, the planning process and the appointment of specialist consultants.

The project involves the removal and replacement of 2,000m² of cladding. The existing cedar cladding will be replaced with a non-combustible Cedral Click product. The work also includes the replacement of balconies, terraces, installation of fire breaks and replacement of rainwater goods. Equals is now providing post contract project and cost management services and acting as the Employer’s Agent through to the completion of the project.
