Equals have recently been appointed to provide project and cost management on Phase 2 of the West Herts College Dacorum campus as part of their overall masterplan in Hemel Hempstead, designed by IBI Group.

We were instrumental in the development of the overall Dacorum campus master plan and successfully delivered Phase 1 in 2017 which consisted of site preparation, demolition, construction and fit-out of new teaching space, learning resource spaces, teaching facilities and refectory.

We advised on a strategy to design, procure and construct the scheme quickly in line with funding requirements; dovetailing design completion and achievement of planning consent to enable construction to commence and the College to take possession during the Easter half-term in 2017, which allowed commencement of Section 2 of the works including demolition of old teaching blocks.

Phase 2 will provide permanent specialist teaching space for engineering and construction subjects (motor, electrical, plumbing, carpentry) as well as ancillary staff facilities.

The overall master plan intent is to modernise the campus while improving the relationship between the College, businesses, town centre and other nearby public amenities.
