Equals has been appointed for cost management services on the Cyfarthfa Plan – a new multi million pound strategic plan which aims to regenerate the area of Merthyr Tydfil and celebrate the industrial history of south Wales, with a focus on the role of the town.

The strategic plan will be centred around Cyfarthfa Castle, its park and surrounding area. The plans include new buildings such as a visitor centre and also the landscape development of the park.

It is hoped that the plan will lead to a boost on the number of visitors to this part of Wales with estimates of a fivefold improvement on the current 60,000 who visit the castle annually.

Working closely alongside Ian Ritchie Architects, we are excited to be involved in a project that is set to bring renewed vibrancy to this culturally significant area, and open it up to a new generation.
