Níall McLaughlin Architects have been appointed to design a new performance space in part of the Grade I listed building at Somerset House. Although the estate is large, there is not currently a space for large gatherings aside from the outdoor courtyard.

Equals have been appointed as project managers on the scheme.

Equals also provided project management on a feasibility study for the redevelopment and assisted with developing the brief. We examined the viability of developing a large, flexible space designed for a wide range of uses, including performances, exhibitions and conferences with capacity for 350-500 people. There will also be a new public space which would connect the Upper Terrace to the River Terrace.
